Some viewers have asked me whether I can use other ropes from regular hardware store. The answer is definately yes, one of my favorities is manila rope, which you can purchase from stores such as Home Depo directly. It is rougher and more difficult to handle than regular Japanese hemp rope but has the lasting sensation and rope marks. Here is the description from Home Depo: Manila rope is made from a natural fiber called hemp and comes in diameter sizes of 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch. It ties very easily and remains secure. Manila rope is resistant to the damaging affects of the sun so it will not melt, making it a good choice for outdoor use. Use where strength is important. | ||||||||||
