Meyer basking in the glow of her savage demolition of Terry Farrell has pundits and fans buzzing. Boxing certainly didn't work for Farrell, yet Charlize probably doesn't want to trade licks with the curly haired destroyer - interesting problem for a lightweight champ unused to puzzles. Dina in grey stretch cotton Everlast sports bra, black high cut aerobics bottoms, blonde curls drawn back; Charlize in white sports bra, white high cut aerobics bottoms.
Round 1: Charlize pulls away from a whistling Dina right hand - champ's eyes widen and Theron won't make a serious offensive move this round. Meyer stalking, hurtling into vicious overhand lefts or rights - offense is her defense as Theron peels away, trying to establish order with her feet. Midway through, Dina misses a lunging right, comes back with a crashing left to the jaw - Theron's head spins and she spills to the ropes in trouble. Meyer finally able to square up does savage work to the body - Charlize with palms extended to keep Meyer off her, but Dina fights through it, PULVERIZING THERON'S BRA and chiseled abs and ribs with cudgeling force from both hands. Theron trembling at the bell, but smacks gloves with Dina in acknowledgment of the challenger's work this round.
Round 2: Theron once again on her heels, bailing awkwardly as Meyer's pressure puts the champ in reverse. Charlize trying to leg back, use her jab to set something up, but Meyer keeps collapsing her defense, rushing in, catapulting punches over the top with KO written on every blow. Charlize getting nicked but doing a good job of rolling with most of it. Down the stretch, Theron steps back in good order, fades a Dina right hand and comes back with a stuffing right on the mouth, pushing Meyer's chin in and DINA IS HURT! Meyer stumbles backward as Theron gets her body in behind the shot, steals a Dina round with the opportunistic counter.
Round 3: Charlize now leading - getting her jab into Dina's face. Meyer still wants to come forward but she's getting timed, pre-empted. Theron throwing straight rights off the jab, finishes up with a biting hook that skids off the top of Dina's head. Midway through, Meyer backing up uncertainly - a relaxed Charlize steps in with a quick one-two straight to the mouth - Meyer's butt shoots back as she nearly drops to her knees. Dina at the ropes covers up, looking to grab and hang on to the bell.
Round 4: Both girls have tasted it from the other - mutual respect evident as they circle mid-ring, taking turns assaulting one another with multi-punch bursts. Charlize staying tall, working behind her jab, slinging straight right hands up the middle - Dina crouching low, working around the sides, happy to dig at the ribs when her head punches come up short. Theron giving ground late as Meyer starts to sink really hard shots into those perky tits forcing Charlize’ butt against the ropes at the bell.
Round 5: Dina with that sweeping right haymaker to the body, buckles Theron's legs and has the champ grimacing early. Charlize out over her legs, reaches to grab - Dina slugging heartlessly around Theron's outstretched arms, POUNDS PUPPIES and THERON GOES DOWN! Charlize on her knees, taking ragged breaths, shakes her head and gets to her feet. On comes Meyer. The middle minute sees the curly headed banger walk Theron down all over the ring; winging blockbuster lefts and rights from her hips. Charlize pulling away but getting CLIPPED ACROSS THE BREASTS starts to break down. Final minute turns ugly - Theron staggering at the ropes, pushing Dina back by her shoulders but Meyer keeps coming. Vicious blows to the waist, clubbing smashes across the face - Charlize going sleepy - pushing her challenger back then covering up as Meyer wades back in. Down the stretch Meyer stomps in and bounces a brutal straight RIGHT HAND OFF CHARLIZE' LEFT BOOB drawing a sob from the blonde! As she stiffens, Meyer's follow-up left uppercut sweeps the mouthpiece from Charlize' mouth and THERON DROPS TO ALL FOURS! Theron a pathetic sight climbing the ropes and lolling helpless in the corner until the bell sounds. Ref bodies Dina back as she closes in for the kill - hungry to finish.
Round 6: Charlize beaten unrecognizable in the last round - lopes out for the sixth, but nearly falls down as she tries to step around Dina. Meyer pouncing at the first sight of weakness, winging lefts and rights - Charlize desperately slipping as she retreats, turning her shoulders with the punches until she hits the ropes. Crowd screaming as Meyer bodies up and GOES TO THERON'S BRA with awful driving right hands. Theron gasping, lolling forward - Meyer shoving her off, pressing a left forearm against the champs chest before hacking down with a chopping right to the side of her jaw! Theron going out on her feet, eyes closed, mouth open and Dina pours it on! Short curling lefts and rights bash face - Theron soaking it up as her head dances, punches crashing home with sickening force. THE REF STEPS IN! Meyer leaping for joy as she pounds Charlize out in six. The winner and NEW lightweight champion - Dina Meyer.
Theron ranSACKed by a hungry, hungry challenger; her face a purple punished mass, her body black and blue. Meyer giving Theron as bad a beating as the storied champ can recall. There's a peculiar, animal ferocity to Meyer's attack - spectators can't take their eyes off her when she starts to unload and strong opponents are being reduced to rubble with alarming thoroughness. Theron congratulating the winner in the ring, and telling reporters confidently she wants a rematch - but its Dina's night. In days to follow, analysts sift through the carnage to come up with Meyer-beating strategies - maybe a crowding body attack as she looks like she needs to extend on her punches, or a Marceau like toreador treatment, but nobody's certain. Theron definitely hurt Dina and had her on her heels early, but that fifth round was one of the most one-sided beatings Charlize has ever suffered. Slugging doesn't seem to be the answer - at least, not for Theron!
Round 1: Charlize pretty to her left, hands low - she's just dancing, backhanding out a casual jab, looking her girl over. Meyer dukes up, crouched, bobbing and weaving as she cuts down the ring. Midway through, Dina ducks a quick one-two from Charlize, comes out of the crouch with a slashing monster hook to the left breast; overhand right and THERON GOES DOWN! Vicious head-swivel Charlize, Theron stretched out on her back and groaning - OH what a shot! CT takes her 8, digs in and it's heartless toe to toe brawling the rest of the way. Theron proves her mettle, elbows in, guard tight - she's just turning her torso, licking tight shots across Dina's midriff, or clipping her chin - Meyer can't close the show as Charlize shows incredible resilience in making it to the bell.
Round 2: Theron's had her wake-up call - little more intense as she glides left, turning Meyer midring, peppering her with darting jabs off the hip. Charlize changing directions every once in a while, nicely wrong-footing Dina, forcing the champ to adjust. Not a lot of offense from Charlize - she's slapping her punches, feinting Dina back, just getting her legs under her and shaking off the last of Meyer's pulverizing shot from the first.
Round 3: Dina jabbing to Charlize' chest, staying low - Meyer able to duck inside with some consistency this round. Fighting off Theron's chest, Dina really tears it up to the waist, keeping her hands in front, snatching and snapping at the body, then curling rude uppercuts to those perky tits! Charlize huddling in with Dina, holding Meyer around the ears, controlling her head, basically sacrificing her body in a slow meandering waltz while Meyer works.
Round 4: Charlize' turn. Back outside, loping, gliding lateral movement, snappy, loose-limbed jabs off the hip, often doubled up to pak-pak Dina's surprised face at a distance. Charlize with a little hitch-step to the right every so often - she'll plant, drop the hesitation right - Meyer soaking up a flush, cracking shot on the left side of her head keeps walking through it. Shutout Charlize - Meyer can't pull the trigger this round as Theron's legs dictate.
Round 5: Bruising Dina Meyer shutout, has everything she could want. Charlize with her back against the ropes. Charlize laying in, hands up around Dina's ears, trying to block Meyer's body shots with her elbows. Dina squirming to pick Theron's mouth up with jagged uppercuts in tight - Dina bouncing her mitts off Theron's tanned tummy, stooping the blonde forward stiff with hurt. Sack socking? Oh yeah, Meyer's helping herself by the handful!
Round 6: Shutout with power - Charlize! Theron staggering Meyer in the first minute with a sneaky lope-to-the-right, hesitation right hand on the chin - Dina double-clutching, trying to get her bearings midring. Theron getting big girl, down off her bicycle - she's palming up Dina's shoulders, shoving her back, extending on humming right hands through the middle. Charlize pulling down on Dina's head, sidestepping while spinning the redhead - blonde warned for excessive grabbiness from the stern referee.
Round 7: Best round of the fight for Charlize - she puts it all together to make the champ suffer this round. First minute - prep the opponent with dancing footwork on the outside, sizzling jabs, testing right crosses through the guard. Second minute, flat footed slugging - more crashing rights up top, swinging, shivering hooks flat against the tummy, then rough, assertive palming of Meyer's slumped shoulders. Charlize slugging and shoving, palming and pulling her girl off balance, then lighting her up again - it's masterful big girl stuff from the blonde. Final minute - Charlize muscling her foe to the ropes - big blonde beat down to the bell. Theron patient, fitting thick, juicy right hands to the pit of Dina's belly, palming the girl back, jostling her, using the left hand to stabilize and drifting harsh right hands to the mouth. Meyer all busted up, curvy legs holding her upright, but she's badly dazed at the bell. Scored 10-8 without the knockdown - Theron helps herself to a clapping left handful of Dina's backside as demoralized red head stumbles to her corner.
Round 8: Meyer roars back, trapping Charlize in her corner, giving the challenger hell with a rampaging, two fisted attack. Theron once again controlling Dina's head, giving up her body in a questionable defensive strategy - Meyer able to twist her torso and rip at Charlize' vitals underneath while keeping her forehead on Theron's chest. All Meyer to the final minute when Charlize LIGHTS DINA UP WITH A COUNTER RIGHT UPPERCUT! Theron with a sneaky tug-down on Dina's head, pulls her into the clipping shot and has the champ knock-kneed in hurt! Quick spin-and-shove reverses their positions - Theron now squaring away to batter Dina at the ropes. Meyer glassy eyed, covers up ear-muff as Theron LASHES away without restraint! Once again, proud champion won't go down, but Theron steals a clear Dina Meyer round, leaving red head trembling at the bell.
Round 9: Meyer busted up, hurt, but grimly determined, she comes out arms crossed, bobbing as she whittles down the distance on Charlize. Theron sliding back, but flat footed, trying to walk Dina into a murderous right cross - Meyer ducking and swinging wide out of her crouch, Theron harpooning up the middle - it's two way danger. THERON GOES DOWN! End of the first minute, girls turn on simultaneous rights - Dina wins the race and sits the blonde down awkwardly at the ropes. Meyer lifting her mitts, shouting and hooting as Theron tries once, twice to pull herself up the ropes. Charlize barely beats the count, hunkers down and DINA MARCHES IN! Sensational, heartless back and forth - Charlize head-in-hands as she lets Meyer bash away to the arms and flanks, pumping jug; then blonde answers with tightened up strokes, right uppercuts, swiping left hooks. Both girls ragged at the break as the crowd drowns out the bell!
Round 10: Charlize and Dina get shoulder to shoulder, taking turns harming each other to the midsection and chin - it's brutal, disciplined trading at close range. Final minute - Theron elects to bounce it outside and cruise to the bell behind her jab. Time and again, Meyer tries to close, batting at Theron's range-finder, but the blonde won't be walked down. Goes to the cards - it's a close one: one point UD10 for the winner and NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION Charlize Theron!
The jinx of Theron dominance over 'Tech' fighters continues as a distraught Meyer watches in disbelief as her Welterweight title belts are given away. Charlize dropped and lumped up for the second straight time, but deliriously happy in the aftermath of this brawl - as close and savage an affair as either could have wanted. "I shocked the world!" Charlize bellows, still reeling with punishment, "Who's the greatest now? I took this tramp out back the woodshed and dressed her up! This is the girl that knocked Jeri Ryan loopy. This is the girl everyone said couldn't be beat. I gave her a little something to think about didn't I?
